A
Mailbox is usually the first contact point and the "business end" of a site if
you will, it allows users to contact the owner of the site and give them
information.
Typically mailboxes have 2 setup modes: Local and Forwarding, Local stores the
e-mail on the website hosting for collection and viewing. Forwarding simply
sends the message to an alternative e-mail address, useful if you don't like to
use programs such as Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird.
Mail Clients: Most people tend to use mail
clients such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird to retrieve their
emails rather than use the web host mail interface as this method is easier and
more convenient. We can supply a mail client if you do not possess one. We
recommend Mozilla Thunderbird
Please Note: The outgoing (SMTP) mail server
is usually provided by your ISP and so you will need to contact them for more
information regarding it's setup and web address so that it can be used.
